Perfect Peaceful Getaway
Sereno Lodge was the perfect stop on my recent trip through Central America. It is located just outside of Granada but allows you access to all of the sites around the area (without the noise and congestion). The hotel is beautifully decorated and has such a warm and friendly staff!! It’s almost like staying with friends! I would definitely visit again.

"Sereno Lodge offers exactly what the name suggests- a calm, relaxing stay with a welcoming atmosphere. The grounds feature a beautiful pool surrounded by lush gardens. Rooms are spacious, with AC and security. The lodge has a convenient location, 10 minutes from Granada, 15 from Lake Apoyo and 25 to Mombacho Volcano. Mynor and his staff were giving of their time for a friendly chat, and helped us plan a day trip and transportation. Can't wait to return! "

Thinking back on my stays at the Sereno Lodge (I have been there twice now) I realize that I should have written a review while I was still there as my creative juices have rarely been flowing the way they were, sitting there under a thatched palm canopy next to a long sparkling pool, being embraced by the gentle Nicaraguan breezes. There is something in the level of comfort, the serenity and the beauty of the lush environment that has been created at Sereno Lodge that goes directly to the creative flow and inner spiritual being. It certainly did with mine! It is a refuge away from the hectic world outside where, if you've happened to lose yourself in your day to day life, you'll find yourself at Sereno Lodge. I did!
The grounds, nestled under a distant volcano, are gorgeous and private. You feel as if you are in the middle of a jungle yet you're a mere five minutes from the center of Granada a beautiful, charmingly unspoiled photogenic colonial town. The common areas and accommodations are at the same time, lavish and quite appropriately simple and always guest-friendly and efficient.
There is as much or as little to do as you wish in and around Sereno Lodge. Among other activities, we hiked rain forests, encircled a volcano's rim and explored the loveliness and vitality (both day and night) of Granada--we were lucky enough to find ourselves there during Poetry Week. While all of these activities were enjoyable, entertaining and enlightening, introducing us to the charming rusticity that is Nicaragua circa 2016, I think my very favorite times were the quiet moments spent by the pool under that thatched roof, writing.
Not to be missed: the coffee, the chocolates, the hearty wonderful breakfasts, the friendliness of the staff and the gorgeous, dramatic sunset views (volcano included) from the raised the terrace!

If you are looking for an exotic tropical getaway that is not overrun by tourists, check out the beautiful safe country of Nicaragua. More specifically, consider Sereno Lodge, located near the historic, colonial city of Granada, one of the most beautiful cities in Central America. Located next to scenic Lake Nicaragua, you can enjoy first class restaurants, sail through a series a lush islands, travel to the top of a volcano, and hike in pristine rainforests.
At Sereno Lodge, which is perfect for a yoga or writing retreat, or just to get away from it all, one can relax by a beautiful pool or on a rooftop terrace with a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. The main lobby/lodge/dining area is an open air rambling space facing the pool that reminded me of being in Bali or Bora Bora. One gets the feeling that one is experiencing something and somewhere before it becomes spoiled and over developed. Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime adventure.

All I can say is spectacular! I was visiting Nicaragua and could not seem to find a place to stay that found a balance between the hustle and bustle of Granada, and a serene wilderness getaway. I wanted to tour the city and enjoy the nightlife, but also have a quite place to unwind in my own special place.
The Sereno Lodge provided me with both. Being only a 5-minute taxi from Granada's Central Park, I was able to see the churches, enjoy the restaurants and bars, and then come back to my own private oasis.
The staff was super friendly, the rooms were rustic and cozy, but the best parts were the massive pool, the gardens, and the views from the rooftop terrace.
I highly recommend this place if you are looking to go on adventures and explore, while having a peaceful accommodation to reflect and relax, the Sereno lodge is the place to go!

The Sereno Lodge is a beautiful place that offers all the ingrediences you could wish for to enjoy a fantastic relaxation time. I love this place with it's beautiful garden, the pool and all the spoiling comfort.
Each day, after a delicious breakfast we explored the region with the historic city center of Granada, the volcanoes and lakes. We enjoyed drinking a cup of local coffee and tasted fine chocolate. We discovered the small islands, watched amazing sunsets and relaxed by laying in the hammocks. Nicaragua is a place full of attractions. It was very easy to travel. At The Sereno Lodge we had our base as all major attractions are very close and we really appreciated the very friendly staff, we met interesting travelers to share our stories with and to listen together to nice music. We had a truly memorable time!

I highly recommend the Sereno Lodge to everyone that is looking for a truly special time in Nicaragua.

This place was so peaceful and welcoming. My husband and I decided to take our two daughters to visit my homeland of Nicaragua. We loved Sereno Lodge as it was close enough to major sites but still felt tranquil and relaxed. We even celebrated my daughters birthday there because it was so welcoming. It is the type of place that welcomes anyone and feel safe and relaxed. And yet it still allowed us easy access to all the major tourist locations between Managua, Masaya and Granada. The amenities were top notch as well. I can't recommend it enough.

Amazing place for special people! If you are looking for a space to rejuvenate your body, mind and soul... the Sereno Lodge is your place to go! Loved spending 3 weeks here, as I found a mindblowing variety to cultural, natural and exotic highlights in such a close distance... fire-spitting volcanoes, crystal clear crater lakes, lush forests, colorful colonial Granada and lots more. And, in addition, this lodge offers all you dream of... yoga sessions to unwind, meaningful conversations with like-minded people, inspiring books and tons more. In addition, I had one of my best ever massages ever here - and I had many in my life! I cannot stop raving about this place and will go back as soon as I can... everyone, check it out and you'll have the time of your life there! Maybe meet you here?

Have you ever imagined the perfect vacation? A tranquil paradise, a cultural experience, or a vibrant nightlife? How about all three….this is what I experienced at Sereno Lodge and the beauty that surrounds it.
The lodge is a wonderful balance of serenity to come home to after a day of touring local sights such as the Masaya Volcano National Park. I loved waking up to the early morning light and enjoying a great cup of coffee overlooking the pool. The location couldn’t be better situated for day trips to the north and south. I highly recommend this lodge and the wonderful hosts. I will be back.
